How a Baseball Summer Camp Can Improve Your Season - Part 1
There are lots of great reasons to attend a baseball camp this summer. But how can attending a baseball camp improve your season? In Part 1 of this 5 part series we explore Throwing Accuracy.
Throwing accuracy is often over looked when it comes to development but it stands out like a sore thumb during games. How often are throwing errors made that lead to unearned runs being scored? What about walking batters? If you said every game you would be correct.
Eliminating throwing errors or base on balls in a game will go a long way to preventing runners getting on base and eventually coming around to score.
Just Throw! In a baseball summer camp throwing is one of the skills that gets the most work. You can see huge improvements over the course of a week with the amount of throws each player receives each day and the coach feedback that accompanies it.
Glove Side - Another big reason you will see improved accuracy is because the number one thing that affects accuracy is the players’ glove side. Often it can be completely forgotten and this will greatly affect the result of every throw they make. But it is also an area that can be trained very easily through positive repetitions.

No matter what position you play in the field throwing will be a necessity and the more accurate you can make each throw the better chance the team will have of playing solid defense and keeping the other team off the score sheet.
If your child has done a baseball camp before please let us know how your thoughts on how it improved his/her season.
