Things I Wish I Knew about Baseball Before College

Everyone has their own regrets when it comes to different aspects of their life. We would all like the chance to go back and redo something for which we now have superior knowledge.  Baseball is no different. When you look back on your career, you realize there are so many things you didn't understand that you could have benefited from knowing. Hitting and the Technical Domino Effect

There are hundreds of small techniques that a hitter can use to their advantage. Some techniques are more important than others but all of them have a purpose. It's rare for someone to know all the proper techniques with regard to hitting, but as long as you know what you're trying to accomplish, you can determine what’s needed to properly execute the skill. In this instance I will be discussing how to prevent pulling off the ball and why that’s important to avoid. A technique necessary for every hitter is to be able to put themselves in a position where they can keep their head and body on the ball as long as possible. Here's how you can make that happen.

Edwin Encarnacion Training Day at The Baseball Zone

The Baseball Zone hosted an exciting day of baseball training on Sunday, November 22nd as Toronto Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion arrived with 40 lucky kids of all levels and ages to help raise much needed funding for the youth in his native Dominican Republic. With the help of the volunteers from the Edwin Encarnacion Foundation, The Sunrise Foundation DR and sponsorship from Accenture, Rick Johnston and Ryan Armstrong  ran the players through skills and drills that made for a highly entertaining day for everyone.

Dear MLB - What is Up With the Blue Jays' Game Times?

Dear MLB,

Am I happy to have playoff baseball back in Toronto? Yes! Am I happy about the start times of the ALDS? No! It would be easy to say that we are being put on the back burner to accommodate big market teams in the US (despite Toronto being a larger market than any of the other cities playing today...I wonder if you know???). But market size impact aside, I truly believe there are other things to be considered.
