Edwin Encarnacion Training Day at The Baseball Zone

The Baseball Zone hosted an exciting day of baseball training on Sunday, November 22nd as Toronto Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion arrived with 40 lucky kids of all levels and ages to help raise much needed funding for the youth in his native Dominican Republic. With the help of the volunteers from the Edwin Encarnacion Foundation, The Sunrise Foundation DR and sponsorship from Accenture, Rick Johnston and Ryan Armstrong  ran the players through skills and drills that made for a highly entertaining day for everyone.

Why Did John Gibbons Pitch David Price in Game 4 of the ALDS?

There are only a select few people who know why David Price came into pitch in Game 4 of the ALDS for the Toronto Blue Jays against the Texas Rangers. Everyone has their own theory on why it happened, although most likely no one outside of that select circle will ever know for sure.

Now, it all worked out for the Blue Jays. They won Game 4. Then they won Game 5 in an epic battle. But the Game 4 moves remain an interesting debate and story that has kept me thinking. After trying to figure out all the different scenarios that made that decision make sense, I've come to the conclusion that John Gibbons didn't want to publicly choose Marcus Stroman over Price without having an acceptable reason to.

Dear MLB - What is Up With the Blue Jays' Game Times?

Dear MLB,

Am I happy to have playoff baseball back in Toronto? Yes! Am I happy about the start times of the ALDS? No! It would be easy to say that we are being put on the back burner to accommodate big market teams in the US (despite Toronto being a larger market than any of the other cities playing today...I wonder if you know???). But market size impact aside, I truly believe there are other things to be considered.

Toronto Blue Jays Baseball - Top 5 Reasons to Get Excited!!

As a baseball enthusiast I enjoy watching baseball - period!  Being born and raised in Toronto I was raised to root for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team!  Over the years they have had some fantastic teams, players, and success, including 2 World Series.  They have also had their fair share of struggles and disappointments.  The fact that they play in the toughest division in baseball doesn’t help with the optimism at the beginning of each season.  However, any person who loves the game can’t help but get excited over the current team.  There are lots of individual stories that make each game enjoyable, win or lose.  Here are my Top 5 Reasons to watch the Toronto Blue Jays.
